Nannup is part of Noongar Boodjar lands – which extends from north of Jurien Bay, inland to north of Moora across and down to the southern coast east of Esperance and is home to 14 language groups. Nannup town is situated on the lands of the Bibbulmun people and the north side of the Blackwood river (Bilyar Goorbalbilyup) becomes Wardandi country.
We love, honour and cherish this place and we trust that it will be respected and nurtured far into the future. We are of this land, therefore we are all responsible to honour and respect both the land and those who come from it. All of us – Together.
The Shire of Nannup is bounded by the Shires of Augusta-
There are many routes you can take to get here:
Nannup is a comfortable 3 hour drive from Perth City; simply take the Kwinana Freeway south until it becomes the Forrest Highway which will take you in to Bunbury. At the Eelup Roundabout (the big one with the traffic lights) take the first exit left and follow the Bussell Highway towards Busselton. Carry on past the Capel turn off and cross the Ludlow River Bridge. The next turn left is the Ludlow-Hithergreen Road (near the Old Cheddar Cheese Factory.) Take the Ludlow-Hithergreen Road all the way through to Vasse Highway and turn left. Vasse Highway will take you to Nannup.
Take the Coast Rd south from Bunbury. Head past Capel and turn left on Sues Rd before Busselton and left when you see the sign to Nannup on Vasse Hwy.
Take the Southwest Hwy from Bunbury. Go through Donnybrook and Kirup and turn right at the sign to Nannup. Watch out for the dog leg turn!
At Balingup go past the Old Cheese Factory. This is a very scenic Dve alongside the Blackwood River. Drive slowly there’s lots of bends.
Take Graphite Road and turn right on Vasse Hwy.
Turn right at Karridale onto Brockman Hwy. This will take you straight to Nannup.
Turn left into Rosa Brook Rd, this then turns into Mowen Road (intersection with Sues Road). This is now sealed all the way to Nannup and is fabulous! Take this all the way to the end, turn right and you will be into Nannup a jiffy.
As part of our Green Steps Initiative, we have partnered with La Mule in an effort to promote ride sharing and reduce carbon emissions related to our Festival. Why not share the experience with some new faces and post a ride on La Mule to fill your empty car seats? Not only are you doing your bit in helping the environment but you also get to share travel costs, have company for the road trip and even for the whole Festival if you choose to!
The distance from Perth International Airport to Nannup is 271.7 km (approximately 3 hrs) via State Route 2.
