Welcome to the music of Trio Fáilte!

Margaret Schlink (fiddle and viola), Fiona Davidson (fiddle) and Krista Low (cello) are three musicians from diverse backgrounds who explore the wonderful and varied Scottish fiddle repertoire with the special sound of a string trio. Their unique arrangements embrace traditional music from the old to the contemporary.

Margaret Schlink came from a classical background, playing mostly viola and discovering Scottish fiddle music along the way. She has played with a number of orchestras and ensembles in Perth. She is the founder and director of the Perth Scottish Fiddlers, a former member of Twisted Herring and currently plays with Scottish group Hot Toddy. She also performed with Shetland’s Haltibonhoga for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Melbourne.

Born in Scotland, Fiona Davidson grew up in a family of musicians and has fiddle music in her blood! She won a number of fiddle competitions in her youth, has appeared on TV, radio and made band recordings on fiddle and backing vocals. Since living in Perth she has performed with Lamas Tide, Twisted Herring, WAPOL and Southern Celts, and is involved in running the community session group Scottish Stramash.

Krista Low has pursued a varied career in historically informed performance, contemporary music and everything in between. She has participated in international masterclasses and festivals including the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute at the University of Toronto and Acadamie Voix Nouvelle at Royamount Abbey in France. Krista performs with the Perth Symphony Orchestra and appears frequently as a solo and chamber musician.
