Ancient Birth, Modern World w BIRTH DOULA
Welcoming both women and men to an insightful presentation into the life of a Birth Doula. We will discuss the history of birth and birth cultures from around the world. Comparing and revealing that Australia’s maternity care is behind the 8ball, with birth trauma rates for mothers at a high percentage. Questioning the medical systems practises. We will talk at length on how to avoid trauma. Knowing Your Birth Rights in a hospital setting is paramount. This presentation is to remind us that birth is sacred/primal/intuitive. There will be space for Q&A.

This interactive presentation will pose the question - do we need to stop talking about mental illness, and start talking about mental wellbeing? With increased focus on mental illness in recent years, yet seemingly no decrease in prevalence of mental health problems as well as an increase in suicide, what can we do as individuals and communities to create change and help ourselves and others to bloom? Diana from the Essential Essence will once again be running the popular Aroma Arts sessions. Suitable for kids and adults. Come along and make brooches badges and other adornments using recycled fabric, felt and beads. Scent them using your favourite festival feel-good essential oil.

Art jam is back at Nannup 2020 with more hands-on fun all ages arts workshops! We will be making clay characters that can be used as a planter or pencil holder. Art Jam offer flexible workshops for all ages, encouraging social inclusion and mental health.

Birth Circle/Woman's Circle W BIRTH DOULA
Welcoming the Daughters, the Mothers, the Grandmothers to come and joyfully sit together as Women. Let us share insights of all things feminine. Sharing stories of pregnancy & birth, swapping knowledge of Sacred Fertility & Moontime. I will share my story of Intuitive Freebirth. Along with my experience of elimination communication/nappy free baby. We shall put forward our fears, have them slayed with the Wise Woman's reason. Let the grandmothers insights be recognised by the young. Let us women remedy each others' souls, as We Women have done for aeons. Let us walk away feeling our most intuitive, intelligent, powerful selves that We Women have been for thousands of years, carrying that essence with us for whatever our lives shall offer.

BODY PAINTING DEMONSTRATION W Ngarinyin Dancers
The Ngarinyin dancers will host a body painting demonstration. It will provide an opportunity for visitors to gain understanding of the meaning of ochre painting and the symbolism behind it; how ochre was a valued commodity and trade item amongst indigenous people and and how it connects people to country and homelands.

Clean State advocates for action on climate change in Western Australia. Clean State promotes solutions to address WA’s biggest polluters in ways that create thousands of jobs and exciting opportunities for communities and businesses across the state. Come and learn more from the Clean State team about where WA is at in 2020 and what you can do to promote climate action.

Duo Dynamics W Montgomery Church
In an open forum, James and Cielle discuss and demonstrate different ideas on how to make a sound greater than the sum of its parts. Topics covered include using dynamics, creating variation, playing well 'together', using harmonies, arranging a song, co-writing, and considering the strengths and weaknesses of your instruments.

Eco stitching and dyeing w SHIPWRIGHTS COTTAGE
Waste silk and wool from dressmakers will be dyed using fallen plant material from Nannup. The fabric will be bundled with fallen leaves to produce leaf prints and then placed in a specially prepared dye bath. Once bundled the cloth sits in the bath overnight and unbundled the next day. The dyed cloth (yours or ones I've already dyed) will be turned into amulets or bracelets using simple hand sewing techniques. These workshops are suitable for children and adults. All materials will be supplied.

EXTINCTION IS FOREVER: A CASE TO PROTECT OUR WILDLIFE! W Kerrie-Ann (K-A) Garlick
Kerrie-Ann (K-A) Garlick is the nuclear free campaigner at the Conservation Council of WA (CCWA) and has been campaigning on this issue for over two decades. K-A is managing a Supreme Court Case where CCWA and three Traditional Owners are challenging the WA Environment Minister over a uranium project that has been given environmental approval that would ‘knowingly’ cause extinction of multiple unique species. Come and find out the outcome of the court case and an update on the campaign to stop uranium mining in WA.

FINDING YOUR TRUE NORTH w tom robb: Redefining purpose and passion, through story and movement
Come and join Tom Robb for a fun workshop of self-discovery and human connection. From building relationships to understanding the importance of a good work-life balance, ‘Finding Your True North’ is all about getting our lives back on track, releasing our inner child and becoming the best version of ourselves! The workshop consists of a 1-hour Fun Yoga practice as well as a 30-minute presentation on work-life balance.

FLOWER POUNDING
Try your hand at the exciting and unpredictable technique of flower pounding. Using simple tools and an array of plants, you will learn how to transfer natural dyes onto recycled fabric to create lasting works of art.

GROW YOUR OWN OYSTER MUSHROOMS AT HOME
This workshop will demonstrate how to grow your own oyster mushrooms at home. Using commonly available materials you'll get to make up your own fruiting bag to take with you and grow fresh nutritious and tasty oyster mushrooms at home. You'll also learn how to create more mushroom spawn from existing oyster mushroom stems to make even more fruiting bags and mushrooms. Numbers are limited so please sign up in advance to secure your spot.Matt Checksfield lives on a typical urban block in Coolbellup where he has setup numerous Permaculture based systems for food production. Jodie Vennitti started her permaculture journey over 6 years ago, in line with undertaking a Bachelor of Sustainability.

Harmonica w Rob from Finding Your True North
This fun interactive workshop will run through the basics of learning how to play the harmonica. From playing the blues to bending notes and even sounding like the old steam train coming down the track. By the end of this session, you’ll have the skills to make up songs of your own or even start jamming along with your friends. BYO Harmonica or just purchase one at the workshop. Heading for Extinction (and what to do about it!) W EXTINCTION REBELLION WA
Extinction Rebellion is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to bring the rapid changes we need to halt mass extinction and minimise the damage of catastrophic climate change. After a good vocal warm up, we delve deep into how to protect and develop your voice before exploring the wonderful world of vocal harmonies, one of the bands most praised elements. Finally, we will turn to the art of songwriting and give you the low-down writing your own songs, showing you a range of different tools and approaches and teaching you to ENJOY the process of creation.

Music Without Barriers: Accessibility in Music and Live Performance w Alterboy
(Note: This workshop will be Auslan interpreted)
Music Without Barriers will explore creative new ways of reaching Deaf and disabled audiences. Musicians can find themselves intimidated by accessibility, but we want to remind them that ‘attitude is everything’. The workshop will encourage bands, audiences, events managers, and venue operators alike to rethink “disability’ beyond the medical model, and to discuss how access can be of benefit to the music business, with an upsurge of new patrons entering and accessing spaces that were previously restricting or inaccessible.

PERMACULTURE FOR SURVIVAL W JEFF NUGENT
Jeff is known for his involvement in Permaculture: as a teacher, practitioner and author of 3 books on Permaculture Plants. Jeff moved to Nannup in 1975 in search of a meaningful lifestyle. Here he met Bill Mollison “the father of Permaculture in 1978”. The meeting changed his life.Jeff has recorded and edited over a hundred hours of Bill Mollison audio recordings. Although he tries to remain an optimist Jeff concedes that unless we change urgently as a civilisation we will render planet Earth uninhabitable to humans.

Protect Ningaloo is a campaign supported by leading conservation organisations that aims to stop industrialisation in Exmouth Gulf, Ningaloo, and to secure a healthier future for this remarkable place. Exmouth Gulf is a rare and precious ecosystem that hosts an incredible array and abundance of wildlife, and is still largely unspoilt by development. The Gulf is crucial to the health of nearby Ningaloo Reef, one of the world’s last healthy coral reefs. This session (incl. amazing videos) will explain why the Gulf is so special, what’s at stake and how people can protect it.

I will talk about how I go about writing songs, chord patterns I tend to use, writing to a theme, how I use the loop station to bring my songs to life when I perform as a solo act and how I write songs slightly differently for when I am going to be performing them with a band. THE LOOKING CHAIRS
Wrap materials with twine and weave wire to leaves to augment chairs into mystical and abstract forms. Add a tail, wings or frills in this collaborative making of two natural thrones. Come help enhance the coupling of two uncanny chairs that appear to be in a moment, looking or having a chat. The Looking Chairs draws on inspiration from artist Evette Sunset in the exploration of ‘the inner world of the human being and the built environment’.

Jess Beckerling is the convener of WA Forest Alliance and campaign director for Forests For Life. She has a science degree in Environmental Management and 20 years experience in forest and timber industry matters.Jess believes forests are worth more standing for wildlife, water, climate and communities and should be protected from logging and clearing.

Mand Markey has been makin’ or been involved in the Arts in WA for quite a bit of time. She is entirely happy creating “sites” for festivals, making many forms of visual arts with a huge variety of folk and does enjoy designing and stitching cossies for theatre also. She also has a fine hankering for tour managing across WA. Come on over and do some amazing woven Bowls-of sorts-with Mand.
