Don't Tell Daisy
Bringing authentic live music to WA Don’t Tell Daisy is an emerging four-piece band consisting of two sisters and two friends from the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. Holly (guitar and vocals), Lottie (keyboard and vocals), Harley (drums) and Aidan (bass) have been playing music together since 2020, originating as a cover band, TRIP, which has played throughout the Wheatbelt and recently interstate. The band rebranded to “Don’t Tell Daisy” in late 2023 as their original music became a focus and they started performing and recording their songs.
Don’t Tell Daisy has a unique and memorable sound, characterised by the sisters’ beautiful harmonies, extraordinary drumming, catchy keyboard riffs, and complimenting rhythm sections. The band uses raw lyrics and authentic melodies to delve into their rural roots, while telling stories and connecting with their audience.
Don’t Tell Daisy leans into indie/folk sounds and explores many topics, including hope, loneliness, rural issues, connection, materialism, and love. Don’t Tell Daisy aspires to bands such as The Waifs and Angus and Julia Stone, and can play as a four, three or two piece depending on the venue and nature of the event.
Don’t Tell Daisy has regularly performed in Perth (the Indian Ocean Hotel, the Honky Tonk Blues Fremantle, the Leederville Songwriter’s Club, and Four5Nine) and with the Perth Symphony Orchestra at the Narrogin Hay Bales Concert. They released their debut single, “Little Things”, in April 2024 and celebrated with a very successful single launch at the Indian Ocean Hotel. The song, “Little Things” draws on the idea that the small things in life often go unnoticed, and that materialism and wealth do not truly hold the value that is often placed upon them. Don’t Tell Daisy has been back in the studio recently and intend on releasing their second single, “Subway” in August 2024. Prospects for the rest of 2024 include the release of an EP and joining Alison Parade, Humble Armada, Des Cortez and San Cisco, to perform at the 2024 Cuby Groove Fest.
