Mo Wilson and the Drivers
Mo Wilson and The Drivers hail from the rich pastures of the WA 00’s era. The piano driven lounge rock band parented three releases, their debut offering, ‘Like Water Will’ (EP 2006), the long-player, ‘Learn To Dance’ (2008 LP) and the primal ‘Black Angus’ (2016 EP).
For 15 years they hollered and hummed across the stages of WA festivals and band rooms from the Pilbara to Great Southern, before finding a bench-warming wilderness.
The band had threatened each other with promises of exhuming their playful indulgences. And last Winter, Mo Wilson and The Drivers spent a weekend in a Wilyabrup studio – The band delivered new songs and revived the interplay of their musical idiosyncrasies.
The first of those new tracks ‘On the Roof’, an introspective look at the thought patterns of inaccurate shooters’ was released in November 2024 – ahead of the band’s reawakened return to WA stages in the summer of 2024/25.
Belt up, enjoy the drive.
